How do i capture video from my mercury Ez View TV tuner card in mpeg-4 format?

i get a black screen with garbled audio when i select mpeg-4 compression as my desired capturin format and have to restart the application for it work again. I have ffdshow and all the other codecs..i even tried downloadin the microsoft codecs for mpeg-4 which is shown in the config screen as the codec needed to record video. the problem is that i get an error while recordin or convertin any video in mpeg-4. i use a win-xp sp2 system.. Are any updates available that have fixed this bug?|||I don't have your TV card but in general, getting technical support or updated software is pathetic for TV cards from any manufacturer.

The problem might not be with the codecs, but with your TV program. My ATI TV Wonder Pro TV program is flakey because it doesn't like NVIDIA video cards.

Try using another TV recording program, or record in MPEG2 format and download an MPEG2 to MPEG4 converter program.

I'm not aware of any free TV programs, but you might find a free converter program out on the Internet. Cyberlink has a TV program, and you can look for others on Download.com.|||google for "amcap.exe" and install it along with divx, xvid, or your favorite flavor of mpeg4 codec. in a decent machine it captures and compresses in real time. And it's free!
