I heard from someone that 512mb video cards are actually better than 1GB cards on WinXP and the only way to take advantage of a 1GB card is to get 64bit vista, is this true? If I get a 512mb card right now how long will it last me? Will there be a point where games will stop supporting the 512mb version or need more than 512mb?|||unless you got like a 30" monitor the 1gb will do know good and the 512 will outperform in at lower resolutions.|||Well, i haven't heard of that rule, and to tell you the truth, it doesn't make much since to me.But anyway, 512 cards are the most common card out there right now, so it would be good for about another 2-3 years, depending on the power of the card...But if you are looking into using the card in for the long run, i would get a gig, but there is really no use for that much memory on todays games...
I hope i helped :)|||512,000 = 512M or 1,000,000 = 1G. The more the merrier, right?|||512mb gddr3 is better then 1gb gddr2
