I am trying to install a new PCI video card. I had an AGP but wanted to put in a PCI card. When I start up, the computer recognizes the card but before it can do anything else my computer goes blank with the flashing cursor. Please help.|||Try entering your BIOS and disabling your AGP slot. Your comp might be looking for a graphics card that no longer exists. Sometimes (depending on your BIOS options) you can also set the primary graphics card location, with a choice between AGP/PCI.|||the computers motherboard isnt pci compatable.|||try booting up in vga mode.|||Your card is probably PCI-EXPRESS and if you have AGP your motherboard probably won't support it.
Which means you should have bought an AGP one or a new motherboard. Faced with this option I chose to wait until buying a whole new computer.|||you will need to change the video settings in the BIOS|||If you have AGP card then do not insert that Card into your PCI slot bec. they aren't compatible and absolutely it won't work. If your motherboard do not have any AGP slot then you have no choice but you must purchase a PCI card before your video card will work. You have only two options:
1st: Replace your motherboard if you want to use AGP card
2nd: Purchase a new PCI card|||check in the bios ..you probably need to alter the settings
