Can i put my old video card in my new computer?

1. New HP Compaq Computer Intel Pentium D

2. Old Compaq Computer Intel Pentium A

Okay i want to take out my video card from computer 2 and put it in computer 1. Is this possible? Someone tells me if they have the same port. And do i have to take out the drivers for the video card in the new comp and put the old video card in and put it's drivers on it. If so where would i find these drivers

|||Greetings

I hope you can, remove the card from old, watch whether you are removing from a brown/violet coloured slot then it's an AGP slot. Then check the model and the number on the Chipset of the Video card or atleast the brand/ Make. write it down, then see whether your new machine has got an empty AGP slot (if your machine has an onboard video, you might have an empty), if so insert the Video card.

Hope fully your new computer's Operating system should have an inbuilt Driver for this. If not you have to dwon load from the net if it doesn't work well. But you will have to disable your onboard video in the new PC by going to CMOS set up

By the way why do you want to install a old video card to your new computer which i hope allready has an onboard video/or a AGP card.

Are you actually refering Video capture Card or Video Card.

If you are not used to do these things then dont do it.|||Cant say without knowing what motherboard the new comp has and what type of video card the old one has.

You could find the drivers for it on the card manufacturers website.|||model numbers would help... if the video card is about 4 years old, forget it, get a new one or use the onboard video from the new computer may even be faster.
