I'm planning to buy a video card, GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked.?

what is superclocked? is it a nice video card?|||Superclocked is just a fancy term for overclocked. It is from the factory overclocked. I built my sister in law a PC with this card 2 months ago, it is an awesome card, she plays Call of Duty World at War, pretty much all day with all settings maxed out. I am going to buy this card myself when it comes time to upgrade my 9600GSO in my desktop... that card is getting old haha.

Ryan|||Mostly it's a marketing term, but it means that the card comes overclocked in excess of the Nvidia standard clock rates as set in their reference design. There are several clock speeds on a video card that can be bumped up to make the card faster than a "stock settings" one. If the card's manufacturer is decent, it also means the card will also have better cooling than a standard model since overclocking generally requires a bit more power going into the card and generates more heat than a standard card. You'd want to make sure your case has good airflow as well.

Comparing these two for example, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcom… , one is the standard core clock and memory clock speeds (576 MHz and 1998 MHz). The other has higher clock settings. In this case, the manufacturer EGA has kept the same cooling solution, which we'll assume does the job. EGA guarantees the overclocked one will be stable at the overclocked speeds, but looking at these two, it's very likely you could buy the "standard" one and overclock it to the same speeds yourself using the Nvidia tools. You'd basically be paying $10 for peace of mind that it will work overclocked.|||Superclocked means that it is overclocked by the manufacturer which means that the factory made the card run faster than it is intended to by the designers. This is good because it will run faster but it is bad because it will cost extra money. I would just buy a normal 260 and then overclock it yourself with something like EVGA precision because you can usually get a much higher overclock yourself than what the factory overclocks it which means that you can make it go faster than the factory does.|||yes it a nice card my brother has it and it a beast. super clock means it over clocked from its original speeds to add more performance
