Anyone know if a video card is bad when the screen distorts after so long?

I was wondering if it is the video card that could be causing this. after so long of being on the pc the graphics distort it has like tons of lines going down it and the pc freezes up. I ran a memory test and the monitor is a LCD and its brand new just got it not too long ago prolly over a month ago and never had any problems till now.. anyone know if this is the graphics card? its built into the motherboard its intel Extreme graphics 8285G tried updated drivers as well no help.. |||sounds like it is. Try reinstalling the drivers. I know my old pc is starting to get fuzzy distorted images and no doubt ts do to the old videocard. you might have to buy a new card|||It is possible, but it could also be software related.--Any new software installed before this started happening?

Also "brand new" doesn't always guarantee that the problem is with the older piece of hardware. Try the monitor on another computer (for the same length of time).

Also try running it in safe-mode for the amount of time before it "wigs" out and see if it happens there. If not, you may want to remove and re-install the video card drivers.
